Associate Clinical Psychologist

Blue Tiger Psychology Group

I am an independent clinical psychologist based in Glasgow, Scotland. Having worked for a number of years within the NHS as a clinical psychologist, I opened my private clinic in 2019, which allows me to work with a wonderful variety of clients while achieving a much better work-life balance. In my spare time I love going to the gym, going for walks with friends and spending time with my husband, kids and our daft (but affectionate) Whippet, Merlin.

In my private work, I work with clients with a range of mental health problems (including anxiety, depression and trauma) on a one-to-one basis via the online portal Zoom. Having conducted research into sleep during my Doctorate and having worked with online sleep treatment platform Sleepio from 2011 until 2022 as a ‘sleep expert’, I maintain a keen interest in sleep disorders. For over a decade, I have also delivered numerous workshops on anxiety for cancer charity Rainbow Valley, a charity that provides free retreats to cancer patients and their carers.

I draw on a number of theoretical approaches when working with clients, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), systemic approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT). Each client is unique and I believe each treatment plan should be, too, so the approaches I use will always be tailored to suit their individual needs and goals.

My Tiger Moment!

Having danced from the age of two, I left this world behind me when I started uni, thinking I’d never return. Whenever I got anxious in life, I would have nightmares of being on stage again and being terrified I’d get something wrong. In 2018, at the age of 36, I decided to conquer this fear and auditioned as a dancer for a local Glasgow am dram group. Standing on stage in front of almost 2000 people at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow in 2019, performing in ‘Grease’, I took it all in and thanked my inner tiger for facing the anxiety and relighting this passion for dance. I have now joined two more groups, have performed in various other musicals and have loved nourishing this part of me as I have moved into my 40s.
