Dr Stuart Clark

Clinical Psychologist

Blue Tiger Psychology Group

With over 25 years of clinical experience working in NHS mental health services, I bring a compassionate, evidence-based approach to helping people navigate emotional challenges and thrive in a variety of contexts across the lifespan. I work in an integrative way, supporting people to focus on their goals. My clinical background includes a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and further training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, couples therapy, family interventions, mindfulness-based approaches and supervision.

Alongside my clinical work, I have held senior leadership roles in which I have focused on improving the quality of psychological care through building strong relationships across professional groups, mentoring and supervising professionals and contributing to research and teaching at universities.

Sport and exercise have always been a big part of my life and I am still a passionate supporter of my local football team and the Wales rugby team. Through competing as an athlete and on rugby and hockey pitches as a child and young adult, sea swimming in middle age, and supporting my children in their sporting journeys, I understand firsthand the powerful connection between physical activity and mental wellbeing. I have learnt how to build resilience to overcome setbacks and challenges when working towards sporting goals.

My most recent tiger moment involved completing a 5km sea swim in difficult conditions. Three years ago I was a weak swimmer who could not swim front crawl. Through lessons, training and peer support I built my confidence and swimming ability. I challenged myself to complete this long open water swim and got to the finish line after over two hours in the water despite feeling like giving up at times.

My work with Blue Tiger brings together my professional expertise and personal passion—supporting athletes, teams and coaches to thrive both mentally and physically.

Whether you're looking to enhance performance, manage stress, or build psychological flexibility, I’d love to explore how we can work together.

I am currently available on Mondays online or in person in Brighton and Hove. I offer a complementary initial chat to see if we are a good fit, which should not take longer than 20 minutes. Please get in touch  hello@wearebluetiger.co.uk

My fees are £130/ hour.

I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) PYL04022. I am also registered with British Psychological Society as an Applied Psychology Practice Supervisor (Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors).
