Dr Anna Roberts

Clinical Psychologist

Blue Tiger Psychology Group

I have over a decade of experience supporting individuals and families through a wide range of challenges across the lifespan. Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse settings including in prison, with children in care, and supporting parents through some of their most challenging moments. This breadth of experience has given me extensive understanding of traumatic experiences, adapting under pressure, and finding strength during difficult transitions.

I believe that everyone can experience mental health difficulties at some point in life, and I feel privileged to walk alongside people during their most difficult moments – helping them find their own "tiger energy" within. This often means supporting people to uncover strengths they never realised they had. I particularly value my work with neurodivergent individuals, helping them understand their unique qualities and navigate a world that doesn't always recognise difference.

My own tiger energy emerged when my daughter needed a hospital admission as a baby – a daunting and emotional time that required me to draw on my inner strength. I have also experienced the psychological impact of injury and the complex journey of recovery, which has deepened my understanding of how physical setbacks can affect mental wellbeing and identity. These experiences continue to shape my practice, inspiring me to support others through their own challenging moments, including athletes navigating performance pressures, injury recovery, and career transitions.

I work flexibly, drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. I tailor my approach to your individual needs, working collaboratively to help you understand your experiences, build confidence, and feel empowered to move forward.

Outside of work, you'll find me recharging by playing the violin, swimming, or spending time in nature, probably by the sea or up on the South Downs.
