Our Tiger Team

Dr Kathryn Hughes
Clinical Psychologist
Blue Tiger Psychology Group
I'm a psychologist, and I’m proud of the work I do – but I’m also a down-to-earth, approachable person. I’m a mum to a teenager, a toddler, and a lively Border Collie. I grew up in the beautiful North West countryside, and I love cooking for others and sharing good food. I have a quiet passion for science, enjoy podcasts and reading, and like to spend time outdoors – whether that's running or exploring trails on my mountain bike.
My career has been rooted in the NHS, where I’ve worked across mental health services with both adults and children. Currently, I work four days a week in a specialist NHS service supporting individuals affected by gambling-related harm. Much of my work over the years has focused on helping people understand and heal from the impact of trauma – using the mind, body, and relationships as powerful tools for recovery.
The feedback I most often receive is that people feel at ease and comfortable working with me. I believe that building a strong, trusting connection with your therapist is essential – no matter which approach we choose to use. I'm trained in a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and I tailor my approach to suit each individual’s needs.
I offer sessions on Fridays, either in person at my welcoming therapy room in the heart of Clitheroe, Lancashire, or online if that suits you better. My fee for self-funding clients is £120 per hour, and I also accept Bupa-insured clients.
If you’re curious about what it might be like to work together, I’d love to hear from you. Please feel free to get in touch: hello@wearebluetiger.co.uk
