I appreciate the extra demands that being an athlete entails and the push and pull of sport, against other parts of your life, be that school, work and relationships. It can feel demanding to flourish in sport, as well as hold in mind a well-rounded well-being.

I've worked in the NHS in various mental health teams with adults and children since I qualified in 2018 and alongside this, I have completed some private work, mainly to support people either individually or completing some work based psychological assessments. I have always been interested in working with athletes and completed my doctoral research with scholarship athletes, looking at the stigma and barriers towards gaining mental health support for this group. Since completing this and also having a son that is navigating the football academy system, my focus has continued to return to want to support athletes and the systems they sit in.

Getting to know you and your story is always first and foremost in my mind. Then we can think about which psychological approach may be helpful at this time, with your presentation. I endeavor to provide a safe and transparent space where we can work out together what your needs are and how you want to move forward. 

Between work, you will often find me moving in some form, maybe running in nature, playing netball, tending to the vegetable patch or cooking. I often find that my tiger moments have come when I am travelling in a completely different culture. I recall instances when I have been completely out of my comfort zone (taking in new environments, unique tasks and activities and finding ways to communicate and navigate rare situations), but in the same time, in my element, with some level of anxiety, but also excitement.

Currently, I have availability on Tuesday day and evening (in person in Dover, Kent or online) and my fee is £120 per hour.
