Therapy sessions and psychological coaching
It is important to us that people coming for psychology sessions feel as comfortable as possible, so we aim to create an informal and relaxed atmosphere. We know it can be difficult opening up to a stranger about personal issues so we go at your pace, always trying to identify and provide what you need to feel supported.
We offer a range of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement De-sensitisation and Reprocessing) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which are both evidence-based approaches to addressing difficulties and improving well-being. You may already know which approach you want to use, or you might want our recommendations. We will always ensure that we have a shared understanding about your goals for therapy, we will offer hypotheses about why your difficulties might have arisen and/or what’s been getting in the way of you living the way you want to. You will therefore be able to make an informed choice about whether and how you want to work with us. At all stages of our work we want to hear about what feels helpful and about things we could do better.
Issues that we commonly help people with include:
Issues related to sport/performance - coping with pressure, performance anxiety, body image and disordered eating, coping with injury, identity and self-esteem, managing transitions, setbacks and disappointments including adjusting to retirement, whether planned or enforced.
The frequency and duration of sessions will be agreed with you, whether you are looking for a limited number of sessions to work on specific goals, or for longer-term more supportive, exploratory or reflective work.
We are currently developing some time-limited interventions to support people facing specific scenarios, e.g. coping with injury, managing performance anxiety and pressure, and bouncing back from setbacks. Please watch this space for more details, or contact us.

Supervision:
We supervise a range of psychological practitioners, including clinical psychologists, sport and exercise psychologists, and psychotherapists. We offer a safe space where supervisees can discuss various aspects of their practice, including their work with clients/athletes, their work with sports systems, broader theoretical elements to their work and personal development/wellbeing.
Jenny has undertaken further training in EMDR and is an EMDR Consultant/Clinical Supervisor. This means that her EMDR supervision can count towards your accreditation as an EMDR practitioner or consultant working with adults. Jenny currently supervises practitioners working in the NHS in both mental health and physical health settings, and in independent practice with a range of client groups.
Workshops & training:
